Stanton House have been retained by a prominent large-cap fund to source a Director of Corporate Finance for their rapidly scaling portfolio company.


This role will lead on debt financing initiatives across multiple global markets and secure approximately £2 billion in debt over the next 3–4 years, aimed at supporting asset investment.


The key responsibilities include developing and implementing debt strategies, executing capital raising initiatives, overseeing financial reporting, and building strong relationships with financial institutions. In addition, this role will evaluate investment and M&A opportunities driving growth.


The Role:

  • Establish and maintain a robust network of lending and financial relationships to ensure adequate liquidity on favourable terms across key international markets over a 3–5-year horizon.
  • Lead the strategic planning, structuring, and execution of debt and other financing transactions.
  • Negotiate directly with financial institutions, lenders, and other potential investors to secure optimal funding solutions.
  • Present transaction strategies and final proposals to senior leadership and the board for approval.
  • Support business development activities by shaping tailored financing solutions for clients when required.
  • Mentor, manage, and develop junior and mid-level team members, fostering professional growth and expertise.
  • Oversee and manage counterparty risk exposure across the organisation's portfolio.
  • Collaborate with finance and commercial teams to execute financial risk management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with loan reporting obligations and covenant requirements, as well as coordination with lenders on potential defaults.
  • Arrange ancillary financing facilities, such as trade guarantees and letters of credit, to meet operational needs.
  • Lead cross-functional M&A project teams, ensuring seamless integration of diverse expertise for successful execution.


About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as accounting, economics, or finance.
  • Advanced qualifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English, with additional language skills considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present investment analyses to senior stakeholders and negotiate effectively with external partners.
  • Proficient in digital tools and financial modelling systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage teams and meet tight deadlines consistently.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of financial statements.


Experience Requirements:

  • Significant experience (10+ years) in corporate finance, investment banking, or related fields, with expertise in areas such as structured finance, capital markets, or leveraged financing.
  • Proven track record of leading substantial debt financing projects in multiple countries or regions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple large-scale M&A projects with significant transaction values.
  • Experience securing long-term financing for infrastructure-related projects, particularly in energy or transport sectors.
  • Strong network of financial institutions, with experience managing relationships, covenant compliance, and refinancing strategies.
  • International experience, including working outside your home country for a significant period, and contributing to market expansion.
  • Proven ability to raise large-scale debt financing (over £100 million) across multiple regions
