The group turnover for the current trading year will be £49.5m, up 15%.This growth is the first step towards a likely sale transaction by the current Private Equity owners.
The Opportunity
The Junior Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects delivered within David Phillips through supporting the relevant Project managers in the efficient delivery of projects, ensuring QA compliance and coordinating activities across the respective project teams.
The post holder will be required to provide high quality project administrative and delivery support
including working with qualitative and qualitative information, analysis and presentation.
The post holder will work across a number of priority areas and will be expected to maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will, after a qualifying period, manage small scale projects and show home installations. This involves initiation, planning, design (if required), execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. On these small scale Projects the postholder is the person who is responsible for making decisions, both large and small and accountable for the outcome of the project, including quality of installation and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities
- The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate administrative operations of projects.
- The Junior Project Manager will work as part of a small team and will need to have a flexible approach to accommodate a variety of projects.
- The post holder will at times be required to work under considerable pressure. A willingness and ability to use your own initiative will be important.
- Assist the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of project files, databases and systems.
- Provide appropriate secretariat support at meetings and events
- To monitor timesheets and other evidence required for all project temporary hires.
- To support in the sustainability of the project as required.
- To Handle smaller sized projects through to completion both on time and within budget
- To track project financials to come in line with budgets
- Supporting project managers with all ad hoc administration duties
- Co-ordinate reporting from projects and provide analysis of performance for review by Operations Directors
- To work with Project Development team to identify, categorise, and prioritize new projects for a decision by Board on approval. You will provide this team with any documentation and project cost estimation following the agreed template. You will provide regular updates on pipeline to the Operations Directors. You will work with the business to create and maintain criteria for the project approval.
- To control all Navision data maintenance and ensure invoices are sent on time and accurate.
- To assure, catalogue and maintain the standard documentation including but not limited to packs, reports, and create templates where appropriate.
- To Identify common capabilities and opportunities for linking up, re-using, and sharing of methods and resources between projects. Contribute to problem solving both at strategic and project level. Ensure learning from experience is disseminated across the organization;
- Develop relationships with internal teams, consultants, clients and suppliers as appropriate.
- Track holidays and sick absences for all staff
- Support Project Manager, Site Managers, Project Directors as and when required.
- Organizing all employee inductions (on and off site facilities)
- Liaising with all inductees regarding induction procedures and outstanding documentation
- Liaising with all departments and subcontractors regarding induction procedure and outstanding documentation
- Arrange meetings on site, booking in visitors.
- All other duties associated with this role

Knowledge & Skills
- Educated to degree level
- Project Management accreditation an advantage
- Microsoft Dynamics Navision an advantage
- Ability to analyse and reporting of data
- An ability to critically examine existing processes, people, and technology challenges to identify risks and opportunities.
