Lighthouse Green Fuels is part of Alfanar Energy UK, and we are developing the largest Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Europe, utilising first-of-it's-kind technology and attracting a £1.5billion investment package. Our Teesside site currently contains a power plant that we are returning to service, and this role will focus on this power plant as it will be operational in the near future.


We're seeking an Junior HSE Coordinator to join us on a staff basis at our site in Teesside. This is a key role for us and will provide complete support to the site HSE Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their knowledge and skills in safety legislation, policies, and practices and who wishes to develop into a EHS Advisor.


Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with records, inspections, and monitoring activities to verify compliance with company SHEQ processes and procedures
  • Maintain company MS SharePoint database for all company policies and procedures.
  • Support the production of risk assessments and development of safe systems of work.
  • Recording follow up actions from internal/external audit, accident investigations and compliance audits
  • Supporting the EHS Manager to conduct incident investigation and reports.
  • Supporting the EHS function with health and safety training.
  • Supporting and implementation of company’s QHSE policies, plans and initiatives.
  • Collate and prepare HSE data/presentations for site and submission of corporate weekly and monthly Health and Safety KPI reports.
  • Perform routine workplace inspections of the facility to ensure compliance and identify any areas for improvement.


Who we're seeking

  • 2+ years experience in HSE, including industrial site experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely. Possess or be working towards NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 would be advantageous but not essential
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Platforms (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Driven personality with ambition to further a career in Health & Safety Management.
