Saffron Building Society is looking for a Relationship Manager to oversee and drive success of development finance and self-build projects and build strong relationships. The day to day role:


Relationship management and operational delivery of a portfolio of development finance cases from Heads of Terms through to completion and sale of the properties.

  • Contributing to the development and overall achievement of the development finance lending objectives
  • Attending Client meetings where necessary
  • Preparing client documents and uploading these onto the internal systems
  • Providing valued research and information on industry trends, competitor product initiatives and other appropriate market intelligence to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring adherence to all audit and compliance requirements through regular control checks and working towards a green audit
  • Reviewing and monitoring self-build cases and self-build watch list, reporting back findings and any recommendations to Credit Committee
  • Highlighting to Credit Committee any deterioration in the development finance RAG status and outlining any remediation required, by way of a formal action plan, to maintain the agreed exit strategy
  • Facilitating repeat business from existing borrowers we wish to maintain lending relationships with
  • Representing Saffron For Intermediaries, when required, at external events

To be successful you will have knowledge of:


  • Demonstrable relationship management experience in dealing with clients and third parties – surveyors/quantity surveyors/solicitors
  • In depth knowledge of property development and self-build finance
  • Able to work with the Society’s operating systems and good overall IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
