This top-tier city firm advises individuals, families, businesses, financial services, educational and not-for-profit organisations on every aspect of the law, working with trusted professionals around the world to deliver a seamless international service. The firm’s clients include banks, major businesses and media groups, as well as schools, charities, high-net-worth entrepreneurs and landed estates. Their clients operate across the world, with activities and assets in multiple jurisdictions. As a result, the majority of the firm’s work has an international element.


The firm’s Construction department work with an impressive breadth of client types across the full spectrum of the firm’s sectors. Clients include private property companies, entrepreneurs, funds, charities, institutions, banks, international investors and high net worth individuals.


The team enjoy a stimulating range of work, from advising a cultural institution on their development project, a hotel owner on the refurbishment of their portfolio, a bank on a £100m development facility, to a HNWI on works to their new home.


The construction team is looking to recruit an experienced associate to support two partners and work with an excellent associate, with trainee and paralegal support.


The role is non-contentious, but an understanding of disputes and how they are resolved, together with an innovative approach to problem solving, is required.


The successful applicant will also be expected to get involved in a range of business development initiatives and develop profile amongst peers and in the wider sector.


As part of the role, you will be:


  • Advising employers on the terms of building contracts, professional appointments and security documentation
  • Assisting the Property team in relation to the construction aspects of sale/purchase contracts and development agreements.
  • Assisting the Banking team in relation to the construction aspects of lending and security documents
  • Advising a number of contractors and construction industry professionals on the terms of contracts, professional appointments and security documents.


The successful candidate will have strong academics and have 4-6 years’ PQE in non-contentious construction gained from a highly regarded firm in London. Some contentious experience would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
