Fundraising Trustee
Pure Insight delivers a comprehensive package of services for care experienced young people, providing access to the highest quality support - via a single ‘front door’, delivered by specialist voluntary sector organisations working together in formal partnership. We are delivering this approach in 5 local authorities across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
Our model responds to huge unmet needs: both in terms of a single dedicated service which offers consistent long-term support; and the lack of specialist services (e.g. mental health; employment support) which can provide intensive, time-limited help through crisis.
About the role
As a Trustee, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the charity's work and shaping its future. We value a diverse Board with a wide range of skills and experiences to ensure robust governance and effective decision-making. Following a skills gap analysis, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in marketing and/or fundraising.
As a Trustee you will provide leadership and direction for the organisation, including:
· Provide leadership and direction for the organisation
· Taking overall legal responsibility for the charity's work
· Acting in the best interests of the charity
· Contribute towards the Trustees fundraising annual target
· Delegating day to day tasks to staff and volunteers
· Make strategic decisions about the charity's future
· Ensure everything is legal and safe
· Support the manager, staff and volunteers
· Oversee the charity’s work and ensure it aligns with our mission
· Stay informed and skilled in your trustee role
More specifically, we are looking for:
· Support the growth of our corporate and major donor fundraising activities by opening doors, developing relationships, and contributing to strategy.
· Help diversify our income streams to maintain a sustainable charity.
· Bring expertise in charity marketing communications and strategy to enhance our cause, elevate our beneficiaries’ voices, and strengthen our impact within the sector.
Our expectation of you
To be successful you should be able to demonstrate:
· A commitment to Pure Insight and its objectives.
· A passion for supporting care experience young people.
· A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties.
· An ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
· Able to demonstrate integrity, creative thinking and good independent judgment.
Board meetings are held bi-monthly on weekdays during the day and last approximately two hours. Trustees are expected to prepare for meetings by reviewing the CEO report, financial updates, and other pertinent materials in advance. Additionally, there may be opportunities to engage in specific tasks or subcommittees as needed.
