Seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a proven track record in private equity to lead the technology strategy across our portfolio companies, overseeing the successful integration and growth of technology functions to deliver superior business outcomes.


Role Overview:

As CTO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for setting and executing the technology vision and strategy that supports our investment goals and drives growth across our portfolio. You will work closely with portfolio company leadership teams, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance on strategic technology initiatives. This is a high-impact role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and the ability to influence and drive change across a diverse set of companies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the technology strategy across the portfolio, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and investment goals.
  • Portfolio Management: Collaborate with portfolio company leadership to assess technology landscapes, identify gaps, and drive digital transformation to maximize value creation.
  • Technology Governance: Develop and implement best practices for technology governance, cybersecurity, and compliance to mitigate risks and ensure operational resilience.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Lead the technology due diligence process for potential investments and M&A activities, assessing technology capabilities, scalability, and integration potential.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and scale high-performing technology teams within portfolio companies, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Innovation & Growth: Identify emerging technologies and digital trends to drive competitive advantage, product innovation, and operational efficiencies across portfolio companies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technology strategy and outcomes to internal stakeholders, board members, investors, and portfolio company leaders.


Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years as a CTO or equivalent, ideally within private equity-backed companies or in environments involving multiple business units.
  • Private Equity Expertise: Strong understanding of the private equity investment process, including how to leverage technology to drive growth, optimize operations, and enhance value creation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep experience across a variety of sectors within technology (e.g., SaaS, fintech, enterprise software, AI/ML, cloud computing, etc.).
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to set and execute technology strategy that aligns with overarching business goals, including driving digital transformation and operational excellence.
  • Operational Expertise: Experience managing large, complex technology teams and scaling businesses through technology innovation.
  • M&A Experience: Experience in technology due diligence, post-merger integration, and value creation in a private equity context.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including board members, investors, and portfolio company executives.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
