We are looking for a Senior IoT Engineer with a focus on security and expertise in managing IoT Devices within AWS. This full-time, hands-on, creative, and collaborative role will be integral to our engineering team. The role involves close collaboration with our delivery and integration teams to enhance the security, quality, and scalability of our product build, deployment, and monitoring.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee IoT deployments across multiple continents
  • Design, build, and manage deployment mechanisms such as CI/CD pipelines, AWS IoT Core, and AWS Greengrass
  • Drive technical decisions to develop and manage the product engineering roadmap
  • Plan and implement solutions for backup and recovery, high availability, key management, and other strategic initiatives
  • Develop small software components as part of the broader platform
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, metrics, and reporting systems for detailed observability and actionable alerts
  • Collaborate with external pen-testing firms to evaluate the security of our AWS implementation
  • Work within a team of engineers, regularly seeking feedback and enhancing your technical skills
  • Ensure our services comply with the AWS Well-Architected Framework in collaboration with our delivery teams


Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with TypeScript
  • Extensive experience with AWS
  • Extensive experience with IoT devices and their deployment
  • Knowledge of and experience in automating security best practices
  • Strong understanding of common AWS services for delivering end-to-end architectures, designs, and recommendations
  • Proficient in DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD, version control (we use GitHub), and full-stack repeatability
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and CDK


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with AWS IoT (Greengrass, IoT Core)
  • Experience with edge computing
  • Experience with Linux
