We are looking to speak to HV Substation Primary Design Engineers based in the Midlands.


The role would be hybrid with 3 days on site and is on a long-term contract basis.


Requirements

Layout Design and Review: Develop, assess, and refine indoor and outdoor equipment arrangements, encompassing general layout, civil interface, and installation blueprints for both AIS and GIS substations.

Clearance Specification: Define and evaluate electrical and maintenance clearances within indoor and outdoor substation environments.

Routing Infrastructure Design: Plan and assess cable trenches, cable tray/ladder systems, and conduit pathways for comprehensive substation networks.

Optimized Layout Integration: Strategise and validate optimized layouts for substations and associated buildings, harmonizing equipment requirements with installation, operational, and maintenance considerations.

Collaborative Support: Assist the Civil/building services leader in developing layouts for HVA/C ducts, fire protection systems, alarms, and related drawings.

Specification Development: Draft design specifications for HV/MV connectors, conductors, insulators, and collaborate on procurement inquiry packages under the guidance of the project plan lead.

Document Conversion Support: Aid in converting project contractual documents into specific plant engineering requirements.

Technical Query Resolution: Provide technical support to clients, partners, and suppliers by addressing inquiries related to plant engineering.

Project Review Support: Contribute to project design and gate reviews to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project objectives.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in fostering continuous improvement initiatives within the plant engineering discipline.
