Principal Consultant – Air Domain

We are looking for a ‘Principal Consultant – Air domain’ to join either our Operational Research and Analysis, or our Systems Engineering team as we go through our next phase of growth. Sirius Analysis is a rapidly growing consultancy firm, renowned for our reputation and our keen ability to understand and meet customer requirements effectively.

Operating across multiple sectors, including defence, energy, and health, our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, end-to-end consultancy services. We specialise in the analysis of complex problems and systems to enable Customers to make informed investment, management and design decisions.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for both winning and delivering work for ‘Air Domain’ customers and you will need a blend of strong interpersonal skills and working technical knowledge, either in Operational Research and Analysis or in Systems Engineering.


As a Principal Consultant you will maintain relationships and situational awareness of Air-related strategies, plans, programmes and opportunities with the goals of positioning Sirius, winning new work and delivering high-impact support.


Our Principal Consultant will work closely with our other Account Managers, especially ‘MOD Science and Technology’, and will be able to clearly articulate how Sirius’ consultancy satisfies customer needs.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers in the Air Domain.
  • Supporting the winning of Air Domain analysis.
  • The delivery of technical consultancy.
  • Designing and applying analysis and systems engineering approaches to tackle real world problems.
  • Developing analytical tools and techniques, including novel approaches, where required.


About You:

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the experience and knowledge in the following areas:


  1. Leading and successfully delivering consultancy projects in either Operational Research and Analysis or Systems Engineering capabilities.
  • Military operations, especially related to air power and the RAF,
  1. RAF, Air Command and wider MOD structures and processes, especially capability management and acquisition,
  2. Air-related systems and programmes,
  3. Current and future science, technologies and analysis, including awareness of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl),
  4. Air system demonstration and evaluation, especially through modelling, simulation and synthetic environments.


Desirable

The successful candidate to have an awareness or knowledge of some if not all of the following areas:


FCAS/GCAP, ACPs, ACE, Air Cap, MOD capability management, acquisition and business cases, requirements management, acceptance, Typhoon, DST/Dstl, RAF RCO, modelling and simulation, Gladiator, Nexus, information advantage, C4ISR, open architectures, T&E, certification.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Candidates will need to be willing to undergo an internal baseline personnel security standard check prior to starting their employment with the company.
  • Candidates will also need to be willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance (SC) check upon starting their employment with the company. To gain SC clearance you will normally need at least 5 years’ UK residency.
