Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Aerospace Engineer to lead an aerospace engineering team. As the Chief Aerospace Engineer, you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative aerospace technologies, products, and systems, driving forward the company's aerospace engineering initiatives and contributing to project success.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the aerospace engineering team, guiding the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies and solutions.
- Product Development: Lead the design, development, and testing of aerospace products and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and customer requirements.
- Innovation and Research: Drive innovation in aerospace engineering through research, experimentation, and exploration of new technologies, materials, and methodologies.
- Project Management: Oversee aerospace projects from conception to completion, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
- Collaboration: Foster collaboration and teamwork among aerospace engineers, scientists, designers, and other stakeholders, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of aerospace products and systems through rigorous testing, validation, and quality control measures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant aerospace regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in the UK and internationally, ensuring adherence to legal frameworks and industry guidelines.
- Customer Engagement: Engage with customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback, and incorporate their input into aerospace engineering projects and initiatives.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the company's aerospace engineering strategy, identifying opportunities for growth, differentiation, and market leadership.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior management, board members, and stakeholders, providing insights into aerospace engineering performance, trends, and opportunities.
- Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of aerospace engineering activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in aerospace engineering, with a proven track record of leadership and achievement in a senior role.
- Strong technical expertise in aerospace design, propulsion, aerodynamics, materials science, and/or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management methodologies, with experience leading complex aerospace projects from concept to commercialization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Thorough understanding of aerospace regulations, standards, and compliance requirements in the UK and internationally.
- Strategic thinking, analytical prowess, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive business results.
- Leadership qualities, including vision, decisiveness, resilience, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.
