We are exclusively recruiting for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in London (approx 5-7 years of exp). This is for a fantastic Global Hedge Fund, which will be their very first SRE hire at the firm. This represents a tremendous opportunity to make a major impact and develop the SRE/DevOps function from scratch. This hire and future team are born out of business needs and have huge growth potential for the successful candidate.


In summary, we are looking for an experienced and talented SRE with solid expertise and experience in Linux platforms and cloud technologies (running Linux on AWS). We are not looking for someone with Linux internals/kernel guru-level expertise, but the candidate must be highly proficient in managing, operating, administering, troubleshooting, permissioning, and configuring Linux platforms.


This is not a support role and does not have shifts, but we are looking for an escalation point for serious, complex problems


It requires someone with a cool head, experience, and communication skills to work directly with business stakeholders under pressure on mission-critical business systems. You will also need the maturity to collaborate and coordinate with other internal technical teams (software engineering, core infrastructure).


You are curious by nature and proactive when working on the systems to assess how they could be improved, optimised, and automated. Then execute


The culture is fast-paced and involves change and evolution. It is a flat, bottom-up style, probably not best suited to someone who requires formal structure and hierarchy in their working life. We prefer career-minded engineers with excellent job tenure and a career trajectory track record. Contractors/consultants don't excite us. We particularly like engineers from FAANG, FinTech, Hedge Funds, Prop Trading, Market Makers, and Investment Banks.


Programming and scripting skills are highly desirable assets, but this is not a role in the software engineering team.
