Who are we?

We are looking for a qualified solicitor to join our growing family law team. Established in Essex for 24 years, Townsend Family Law is a niche practice specialising in all aspects of family law. Marion Foley took over the practice in 2020 and under her leadership, the business has grown in strength, size and reputation. The successful applicant can look forward to good quality work and an interesting and varied case load.

The structure of our admin team will enable you to focus on fee earning, building client relationships and business development. Experience required?

Experience in all aspects of family law is required but with an emphasis on divorce, finances, children and cohabitee disputes. You will already work independently, be experienced in running your own case load and acting for clients of SME’s and those with investment portfolios and pension assets. Experience in Part 7/Part 8 Claims is also desirable. You will be confident in negotiating and advising clients on settlement.


You will be required to assist in the marketing of the firm by writing articles and blogs for sharing on our website and social media platforms.


This is an ideal position for a qualified solicitor with two years PQE already working without supervision and used to running their own caseload although the position is open to applicants of all levels who consider they have the appropriate experience.
