We are seeking a Data Migration Specialist to oversee the transfer of legacy data into our new Salesforce implementation. This role involves analyzing, cleansing, and migrating data to support recruitment and business development processes.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Analysis and Mapping:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand legacy data structures and map them to Salesforce object model.
  • Identify gaps, duplicates, and inconsistencies in legacy data and design solutions to resolve them.


ETL Process Management:

  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data using tools like Salesforce Data Loader, MuleSoft, or third-party ETL tools.
  • Perform data transformations to align with Salesforce field formats and data model requirements.
  • Plan and execute migration sequencing to manage parent-child relationships and data dependencies.


Data Migration Execution:

  • Import data into Salesforce using tools such as Data Loader, Bulk API, or Workbench.
  • Conduct test migrations in sandbox environments to validate mappings and transformation rules.
  • Ensure compliance with Salesforce limits, including governor limits and bulk API constraints.


Pre- and Post-Migration Validation:

  • Perform rigorous validation checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and proper relationships.
  • Generate reconciliation reports comparing legacy data with migrated Salesforce data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate data and address discrepancies.


Documentation and Business Alignment:

  • Document data mappings, transformation rules, validation criteria, and agreements with business stakeholders.
  • Communicate progress and resolve migration-related queries with the business team.


Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Address and resolve migration issues, such as errors, missing records, or incorrect field mappings.
  • Provide post-migration support to ensure the smooth adoption of migrated data.


Qualifications and Skills:


Technical Skills:


Salesforce Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, relationships, and standard/custom objects.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce tools such as Data Loader, Data Import Wizard, and Workbench.

ETL Proficiency:

  • Experience using tools like MuleSoft, Informatica, Talend, Jitterbit, or similar for ETL processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) for data analysis and preparation.
  • SQL expertise for querying and transforming data.


Data Validation and Quality:

  • Strong attention to detail for pre- and post-migration validation, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Scripting Knowledge (Preferred):
  • Experience with Python or PowerShell for custom data manipulation tasks.


Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with business stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple migration cycles and meet deadlines.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data migration, ETL processes, and Salesforce platform usage.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end data migration projects.
  • Familiarity with recruitment, sales, or business development processes is a plus.


Certifications

  • Salesforce Administrator (preferred)
  • Salesforce Data Architect (preferred)
