Estimator – Structural & Architectural Steel – Scotland
My client is a well-established steelwork specialist, delivering complete packages from design and manufacture through to installation and maintenance. They are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural and architectural steel projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to assess project requirements.
- Source and obtain competitive material and subcontractor quotes.
- Analyse project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing.
- Work closely with the design and contracts teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Prepare and submit tenders and proposals within deadlines.
- Monitor and update cost databases to maintain pricing accuracy.
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the steelwork industry.
- Strong understanding of structural and architectural steelwork processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
