Pepper Advantage UK is one of the leading specialist loan servicing companies in the UK and we are currently looking for a Commercial Loan Servicing Manager to collaborate with one of Pepper's key Private Equity backed clients to deliver first class service across a sub performing and non performing mandate.


You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day interaction with borrowers on behalf of one of Pepper's key strategic clients, seeking to find solutions, consensual exits and manage all aspects across a pool of sub and non performing borrowers whilst supporting the Senior Management Team.


A strong knowledge across Commercial Real Estate, the ability to assess performance of trading business and a sound knowledge of enforcement processes are core requirements for a successful candidate.


As a Commercial Loan Servicing Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring and developing a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
  • Providing operational support for the implementation of approved case strategies, monitoring the portfolio on a daily basis for any borrower deviation from approved arrangements, escalating as appropriate and maintaining Management Information
  • To be the main point of contact for clients
  • Delivering positive customer outcomes and managing the credit risk associated with level decisions
  • Overseeing compliant and robust processes through actively managing internal and third parties
  • Interacting with other managers to provide project management expertise to deliver change
  • Developing strategy for dealing with delinquent loans according to best practice and changes to the regulatory environment
  • Assessing loan workout options at account level and then entering into dialogue with the customer to discuss the options and determine the best outcome
  • Monitoring loan performance, preparing MI and analysing reports/trend analysis and using this to refine/improve servicing strategy
  • Attending governance meetings, including preparation of agendas and documenting actions
  • Keeping up to date with government initiatives relating to arrears and litigation and recommending changes to strategy where required
  • Interacting with other managers to provide project management expertise to deliver change
  • Effectively managing the team through motivation and inspiration



Essential Skills:


  • Previous experience in a team manager role
  • Insolvency/Collections – The ability to understand and appropriately utilise systems and processes for the benefit of debt collection.
  • Legal & Compliance – The ability to understand and utilise legislative requirements for the benefit of the organisation.
  • IT Knowledge – The ability to understand and utilise technology to achieve required position outcomes.
  • Risk – The ability to assess and mitigate risk for the benefit of the organisation.
  • Customer Service and Commercial Awareness – The drive to understand, agree and satisfy customer requirements (internal & external) and deliver a high-quality service to them. Also, an awareness of the commercial impact of what you do.

Additional Information:


This is a hybrid role and there will be an expectation (following an initial training period) of up to three days per week office/client office attendance.
