Key Responsibilities:
The function of our Head of Finance role is to oversee end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.
The Head of Finance will also act as the Line Manager for the finance team (a team of three), and be part of the Senior Management Team (Exec Team).
You will report directly to Managing Director and responsibilities will cover:
· Manage and coach the finance team
· Develop a customer focused approach within the finance team
· Attend Executive meetings and work closely with senior management throughout the business
· Oversea Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
· Manage nominal ledger and Payroll reconciliations
· Produce budgets and forecasts
· Regularly review budgets and expenditure
· Regularly analyse financial performance and produce reports for managers and management team
· Produce accurate monthly management accounts
· Produce ad-hoc reports, when required
· Manage bank reconciliations
· Cash flow forecasting to ensure effective use of funds
· Recommend controls, without excessive overhead burden
· Source alternative suppliers to maximise efficient use of resources
· Liaison with outsourced company IT Team
· General admin functions, e.g. Company phones, Insurances, pool cars, property lease management
· Communicate with Suppliers, Accountants, Banks, etc
· To participate in personal development and training
· To attend and participate in regular team and staff meetings when possible, if necessary (outside of contracted hours) for that week
· To work in accordance with the company's Policies and Procedures, at all times
· To communicate in a respectful, sensitive and polite manner at all times.
· Have a hands on approach
Other aspects of the role:
The expectation is that at the beginning, the role is fully office based, but as you get more familiar with the role flexible working will be an option.
You will be required to visit the offices to meet the Teams.
Travel to and from meetings may be necessary, therefore a full driving licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel is essential.
You are expected to work with the minimum of supervision and may be expected to deal with other duties appropriate to your skill set and abilities.
