Chief Risk Officer

London based – 3 days a week

My client is an international fintech lender – launching in the UK 2012, becoming profitable In 2017 and launching internationally in 2021, its been a successful 12 years of trading.

They are a mission led fintech with the goal of solving working capital needs of SME businesses – Best known for their business credit card whilst currently undergoing launch of their savings account in the UK

We are now looking for CRO to join their industry leading C suite team. You will build out our core risk capabilities, from establishing risk appetite to being at the forefront of our credit and fraud strategies. The role requires continuous learning and improvements to optimise credit performance, forecasting, and tracking the performance of the portfolio.

Role includes

  • Heading up our global risk organisation and overall risk strategy with a heavy emphasis on credit risk and fraud risk
  • Leading Credit, Data Science, Fraud and Compliance functions and building out our company-wide risk tolerance
  • Owning the development and optimization of our global credit scorecards
  • Working closely with Commercial and Product teams as we launch new product and new distribution channels from an "all things risk" perspective
  • Monitoring and reporting on risk to the Board as well as potential debt and equity investors

What we are looking for

  • Experience working in lending (consumer or business) with a strong preference for experience in credit cards
  • A "hands on" executive who wants to get into high levels of detail and feel true ownership
  • Quantitative, numbers-oriented but with the ability to combine detailed level analysis with strategic perspectives
  • Risk experience during an economic downturn
