As the Land, Property & Facilities Management Lead, you will oversee all land-related activities within us, including acquisition, due diligence, planning, and negotiation processes. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to secure and develop land for current and future projects. You will work across the portfolio to lead land acquisition (working with technical, commercial, and other stakeholders), due diligence, works in advance of transfer to future development companies and ongoing management of properties designated for nuclear facilities.

Day to day duties:

  • Develop and execute (working with our commercial and technical) creative land acquisition strategies, including direct purchases, options, leases, and other rights agreements.
  • Lead negotiations with landowners and their representatives, demonstrating strong communication, persuasiveness, and the ability to balance competing interests for ongoing issues, and support initial commercial negotiations on procurement of land.
  • Proactively identify potential risks, obstacles, or title issues associated with land acquisition. Work collaboratively with legal advisors to develop solutions.
  • Prepare and present land acquisition proposals to senior management, outlining site suitability, cost projections, and any associated legal or regulatory considerations.
  • Manage all documentation related to land acquisition transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Oversee the due diligence process for land acquisitions, including title searches, environmental assessments, and ensuring all necessary legal reviews are conducted.
  • Collaborate with project development, legal, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of land acquisition efforts with the overall project lifecycle.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the real estate market, land values, and appraisal practices within the potential project's geographical region(s).
  • Build strong networks with real estate professionals, land agents, and surveyors to identify potential sites and acquire key property information.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the key technical, safety, and environmental considerations that influence site suitability for nuclear projects.
  • Conduct detailed site assessments, evaluating factors such as land availability, topography, accessibility, infrastructure, and potential environmental or land use constraints.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience in the energy sector, with a strong understanding of nuclear development or other complex projects, is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of land use regulations, zoning laws, and environmental compliance
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and land management software
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of land ownership structures, property law, zoning regulations, and environmental compliance requirements relevant to the nuclear industry.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant professional experience.
