About the Role:
We are working with a leading Microsoft Partner who is looking for an experienced and dynamic Business Development Director to lead their growth efforts in selling Microsoft Business Applications (CRM or ERP) into the public sector, including local government, central government, and other public sector entities.
This role requires a strategic thinker and a sales professional with experience in business development, particularly in public sector/central government environments. The successful candidate will drive the development of new business opportunities, nurture client relationships, and help position solutions to meet the evolving needs of the public sector.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of [5-10] years of experience in business development or sales roles, with a strong focus on Microsoft Business Applications (CRM or ERP).
- Proven experience working within or for consultancies, with an understanding of consultancy sales cycles, client engagement models, and solution selling.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM and/or
- Demonstrable experience selling to local government, central government, or other public sector entities.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM and/or ERP) and the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Achieving annual sales targets of £2 million or more through new business development and strategic account management.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with experience managing large, complex sales cycles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with senior executives and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute a sales strategy to grow our footprint for Microsoft Business Applications (Dynamics 365 CRM, ERP, etc.) within the public sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers and stakeholders across local and central government, NHS, education, and other public sector organizations.
- Utilize knowledge and experience of public sector procurement frameworks (such as G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes and Specialists, etc.) to maximize sales opportunities and navigate procurement processes effectively.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality tender and proposal responses, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement requirements.
- Work closely with pre-sales, marketing, delivery, and technical teams to create compelling value propositions and customized solutions for public sector clients.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasts and regular updates to senior management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to public sector clients, advocating for their needs and ensuring our solutions align with their strategic goals.
- Ensure all business development activities are conducted in compliance with relevant public sector procurement regulations, frameworks, and company policies.
