With a strong financially secured pipeline of ongoing and upcoming developments, we now have a new opportunity for an Accounts Bookkeeping Clerk to join our new team at our office based near Royston, Herts.The Role:Accounts Bookkeeper Clerk£33-43K doePermanent/Full-Time - Office based near Royston, HertsWe have a great opportunity for an Accounts Bookkeeper Clerk to join our team at Charwin Homes. As our Accounts Bookkeeping Clerk, you will process and maintain accounts payable records and provide financial administrative support to our other finance teams, ensuring timely, quality financial information is provided and maintained in accordance with company procedures and policies. Reporting to the Head of Construction & Senior Financial Controller, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a range of accounting services while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBehave in line with our company values - Integrity, Caring and Quality.IT literate including MS Excel/Outlook.High volume processing environment with good knowledge of end-to-end accounts payable function.Ability to resolve and reconcile issues with limited supervision.Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.Time management and organizational skills to manage workload.Ability to communicate to all stakeholders, both internally and externally.Ability to work as part of a wider team.Handle confidential information with discretion.Support the team with any additional tasks as required.Essential Skills, Qualities and ExperienceExperience of working within the construction industry would be preferable and highly advantageous.Accurate processing, coding, and matching of invoices in accordance with group policies.Liaising with suppliers to resolve invoicing queries in a professional manner, on a timely basis and to comply with statutory requirements.Liaising with procurement & commercial teams as necessary to resolve issues.Review of invoices on hold and clear in a timely manner.Supplier reconciliations.VAT Returns: Preparing and processing VAT returns in line with client needs and Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.Handling all post/emails related to invoices and any other associated duties including scanning.Checking subcontractor payments prior to processing.Supporting the finance team as required.Working knowledge & experience of COINS finance system.Experience with implementing and using CIS Tax Scheme.Supporting the Commercial/Buying team as required in producing monthly CVR’s.Supporting the Head of Construction.Experience and use of CITB registration, annual levy returns, grants etc.Have a working knowledge and experience of using Sage Accounting Software Package.Why Join Charwin Homes Ltd?Be a key figure within Charwin Homes from the start and helping shape the future of our company of a fast-growing private developer.Collaborate with a forward-thinking team across diverse, exciting projects.A friendly and supportive working environment.Competitive salary based on experience, pension, health cover and performance bonus.Long-term growth with development opportunities within the company.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive sufficient applications.Charwin Homes Ltd is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religious practice or any other perceived differences.
