Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of software for our automation products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with extensive experience in developing software for industrial automation systems. As a Senior Software Design Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative software solutions that meet our customers' needs and exceed industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Design & Development: Lead the design and development of software solutions for automation systems, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with hardware components.
  • System Architecture: Define and develop system architectures that meet the requirements of complex automation projects. Ensure that designs are aligned with company standards and best practices.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of software development projects from concept to completion. Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Code Review & Optimization: Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and standards. Optimize software performance and reliability.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for software designs, including specifications, user manuals, and testing procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software engineering and automation. Continuously improve development processes and tools to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior software engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in software design and development, with a focus on automation systems or industrial software. Experience in a senior or lead role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded systems, and PLC programming is a plus. Knowledge of software design patterns and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design complex software systems that meet technical and business requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automation industry or related fields.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in automation and control systems.
