About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Senior Operations Manager to oversee the brand new fine foods site in South-East London. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of operations, encompassing everything from site management and quality control to health and safety and logistics.

My client is one of the premier wholesale suppliers of fresh and prepared fruits and vegetables to an array of clients including hotels, restaurants, caterers, bars, pubs, and schools. Their commitment to premium quality and exceptional service has driven the growth of the team to over 150 staff and an annual turnover of over £30 million. They have a Fine Foods division which specialises in top-quality food products, serving some of the finest chefs and restaurants in Europe.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire operation of the new fine foods site
  • Manage site operations, quality control, health and safety protocols, and logistics
  • Supervise the pick and pack team, trucks, and drivers
  • Implement and follow standard operating procedures and ensure proper training
  • Maintain compliance with BRC audits and other quality standards
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with long-standing suppliers
  • Foster a collaborative and hands-on working environment


The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a similar operations management role, preferably within the food industry
  • Strong understanding of site management, warehouse & logistics management
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in a flat structure, collaboratively and hands-on
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
