The Director of Bioinformatics will work closely with the Operations, R&D and commercial teams to provide informatics support for existing on market assays as well as contribute to the development and implementation of new assays, technologies and data products that address the needs of customers. The Director will be expected to bridge the domains of translational cancer research, pharmaceutical development, and software engineering providing leadership and clarity of communication to support a multidisciplinary team.


Key responsibilities include leading the development of computational genomics workflows, designing innovative analytical tools for diagnostics, and mentoring laboratory teams. If you're proficient in Director-level scientist responsibilities and experienced in representing departments in various settings, this role is for you. Familiarity with CAP/CLIA/FDA requirements is a plus.


Key qualifications for this role include a Ph.D. or MSc in life, physical, or computer science, or a BS with significant supervisory experience. The ideal candidate should have ten or more years of laboratory or technical experience, including managing teams of Bioinformaticians, Bioinformatics Scientists, and Software Engineers.


Your responsibilities will involve designing and implementing production-scale next-generation sequencing analysis pipelines in oncology and germline analysis. Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, multiple programming languages like R, Python, Java, C, C++, and Perl, as well as experience with large cohort data sets and NGS sequencing platforms, are essential.
