About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage costs and budgets for retail shopfitting projects. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and to a high standard. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative retail projects and help shape modern retail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets.
Monitor project spending and ensure costs align with approved budgets.
Identify ways to save money and offer value-engineering solutions.
Tendering and Procurement:
Create tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities.
Review supplier and subcontractor quotes to secure the best value.
Negotiate terms and agreements with vendors and subcontractors.
Project Support:
Work with project managers to manage costs and forecast budgets.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address financial or contractual issues.
Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts promptly.
Risk Management:
Identify financial risks and develop mitigation plans.
Provide cost-related advice to stakeholders to minimize risks.
Reporting and Documentation:
Create detailed cost reports and financial statements.
Keep accurate records of all financial and contractual matters.
Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field.
Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is a plus.
Experience in retail shopfitting or construction.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and shopfitting processes.
Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
