Detailed Job Description:

Job Summary:

The ServiceNow Developer is primarily responsible for the design, development, and support of workflows within the ServiceNow platform. This role requires managing incidents, leading development teams (PODs), and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions. The candidate will act as the technical point of contact for the development team and will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable deliverables. Additionally, the candidate will drive process improvements, standardization, and efficiency across the ServiceNow platform while staying up to date with emerging technology trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain workflows and process automations within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Technical Leadership:
  • Lead the development team, providing technical direction and guidance to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaboration with Business Partners:
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into functional deliverables.
  • Support and Incident Management:
  • Address support tickets and incidents related to ServiceNow workflows, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Drive process improvements and standardization efforts to enhance the quality and efficiency of workflows and related services.
  • Technical Advisory:
  • Provide technical and process-related inputs for delivery planning, effort estimation, and risk analysis.
  • Documentation:
  • Create and maintain documentation for workflows, processes, and integrations to ensure consistency and clarity for the team.
  • Emerging Technology Trends:
  • Stay informed on emerging ServiceNow and technology trends, identifying opportunities to implement new features and improvements.

Mandatory Skills:

  • ServiceNow Development Expertise:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years working specifically with ServiceNow Request workflows.
  • ServiceNow Certifications:
  • Certified ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
  • Core Java Development:
  • Strong experience in Core Java development and related frameworks.
  • Agile Methodologies:
  • Proven experience working with Agile Scrum practices and methodologies for development projects.
  • Solution Design & BPM Workflows:
  • Demonstrated ability to design and develop process-based solutions, including experience documenting user case processes and BPM (Business Process Management) workflows.
  • Business Requirement Transformation:
  • Experience transforming business requirements into actionable business processes within ServiceNow.
  • ServiceNow Expertise:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ServiceNow's architecture, including class hierarchy, UpdateSet hierarchy, data layers, UI Actions/Policies, deployment, and flow design.
  • Integration and API Development:
  • Experience with ServiceNow integration, including SOAP/REST API implementations.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills, along with demonstrated facilitation skills.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Optional Skills:

  • ServiceNow Scripting:
  • Experience with JavaScript for custom workflows and scripting within ServiceNow.
  • Java/J2EE Development:
  • Additional experience in Java/J2EE frameworks.
  • Frontend Technologies:
  • Familiarity with HTML, Angular, and other frontend technologies for creating responsive user interfaces.
  • API Development:
  • Proficiency in developing and integrating APIs to extend the ServiceNow platform.

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in developing ServiceNow applications, including end-to-end application design, implementation, and integration.
