Interim Senior Legal Counsel – Data Privacy


Our client a household name within the travel industry is currently looking to secure a Data Privacy Lawyer for a period of six months to assist the team.


The role will involve:


As a Senior Legal Counsel - Privacy you will:


  • Advise on matters with law enforcement authorities or short-term rentals regulators on specific matters related to data disclosures, delisting of properties or removal of illegal Content
  • Advise on matters with tax, administrative, civil and criminal authorities requests for personal data, whether through a production order, subpoena, warrant, or other form
  • Advise and provide on the spot risk-based advice in the context of dawn raids
  • Design and assist on the implementation of legal / compliance procedures, processes, standards or playbooks in the context of investigations, whistleblowing, data releases, or other more sensitive matters
  • Negotiating with third parties (in or out a litigation context) about disclosure of personal data is the primary subject matter of a third party claim
  • Conduct Privacy Risk Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Provide (ad-hoc) legal advice for data protection related matters globally, including in the field of cybersecurity;
  • Directly advise product, data stores, tracking technologies, fintech, and corporate functions teams on privacy matters
  • Keep up with new developments in data protection and privacy laws globally
  • Implement and maintain privacy policies and procedures
  • Perform third party services risk assessments and negotiate data processing agreements and data protection issues within commercial contracts with group members or third parties
  • Perform privacy by design working closely with the Data Protection Officer
  • Work closely with the Global Privacy and Data Protection Officer, other Legal Counsels, Risk & Compliance, Procurement, Security and other colleagues as well as outside counsels worldwide
