Join Our Journey
Our UK based Events Team are continuing to grow, so we’re looking to hire an experienced Senior Event Manager to join our existing team. In this role you will lead the development, planning and execution of a variety of event types from the point of concept to completion with responsibility for two direct reports. The successful candidate will be provide creative inputs and management of all facets of logistically complicated events.
This is a hybrid position, you’ll be required to be in the office 2-3 days a week and homeworking the remainder of the week unless you have events to manage. Flexibility is essential for this role.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a team of event managers, delivering a portfolio of corporate/ business events for a variety of industries.
- Lead and manage complex events, both physical and hybrid, from brief to delivery, ensuring all aspects of the event meet requirements and deadlines.
- Support event briefings, contributing creatively and utilising past experiences, market trends and research.
- Design, build and present client proposals .
- Budget management and reconciliation.
- Develop and conduct events in line with Health, Safety and Safeguarding guidelines, conducting any necessary risk assessments as required.
- Work closely with the Event Account manager to build client relationships, driving excellent client servicing to support new business and growth.
- Assist in securing both repeat business and new business, and ensuring projects are as profitable as possible.
- Supplier relationship management.
- Maintain a specialist knowledge of the events environment, conduct competitor and trend analysis to assess and develop new ideas and opportunities.
- Ensure we are at the forefront of the latest event ideas and technologies.
- Input into the annual Marketing plan to provide feedback, support, and ideas regarding content and raise the GD Events profile.
- Event debrief meetings and reporting.
- Support the Director of events on ad hoc projects as required.
What we’re looking for
- 10 years + experience including proven work of large corporate events (500+ attendees).
- Extensive experience in event design, management and execution of a variety of event solutions, such as conferences, incentive trips, VIP Hospitality experiences, employee engagement events, sales and training conferences.
- Strong existing relationships with a range of event suppliers.
- Event Agency experience would be an advantage
- Existing event clients would be an advantage
