Our client, a global Technology consultancy are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to work within their public sector client base.


As a Senior Data Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and optimise data pipelines and architectures that support public sector clients' needs. You will ensure that data solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with public sector policies, while contributing to key data initiatives, including a Data Catalogue and Reference Data engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL, ensuring efficient data flow across systems.
  • AWS Expertise: Leverage AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda) to design and deploy cloud-based solutions for data storage, transformation, and security.
  • Informatica Data Cataloguing: Contribute to a Data Catalogue engagement, utilizing the Informatica data cataloguing toolset to provide a complete set of data services and curations, ensuring seamless data discovery and governance.
  • Reference Data Management: Support the configuration and implementation of a centralized reference data management hub using Informatica R360, enabling stewardship and distribution of enterprise reference data.
  • Advanced Analytics: Implement solutions for advanced analytics using tools like dbt, and ideally R, to drive business insights and statistical analysis.
  • Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure all data processes adhere to public sector governance, compliance, and security standards, maintaining SC clearance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide insights, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Optimization & Automation: Drive the automation and optimization of data workflows to enhance performance and efficiency.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Technical Skills: Proven experience with Python, SQL, AWS (S3, Redshift, Lambda, etc.). Experience with R and dbt is a strong advantage.
  • Informatica Expertise: Familiarity with Informatica data cataloguing tools (Informatica R360) for data management and governance.
  • Security Clearance: Active SC clearance is essential for this role.
  • Public Sector Experience: Prior experience delivering data engineering solutions within the public sector, ensuring compliance with security and governance protocols.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage relationships and expectations across technical and non-technical teams.
