MEI is currently looking for a new Electrical Project Engineer to join our Glasgow based team. We have 23 years of experience delivering tailored installations and repair works to our local and global customers.

With our Global reach we have delivered projects all over the world from cruise ships to offshore rigs and tankers.

We are currently looking to expand our engineering team to help with our growing project demand.


Main responsibilities:

  • Conducting detailed vessel surveys, take precise measurements, capture photos, engage in discussion and use technical proficiency to evaluate the works required.
  • Have a good understanding of electrical installation standards and testing.
  • Undertake complex technical and logical issues, fault finding and conducting design reviews.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, delivering detailed designs packages, work packs, electrical schematics/documents, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Good communication with clients, vendors and partners.
  • Project management of a full project lifecycle.
  • Be AutoCAD literate and produce detailed designs were required.
  • Utilisation and management of MEI Electricians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Assisting MD and Project Director with projects, delivering construction methodology and project lifecycle.
  • Technical support for clients and electricians whether that’s remote or onsite.
  • To comply with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.



About you:

  • To be consider for this role you will require 3 to 5 years of previous experience within an Industrial or Marine Electrical Engineering role.
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of Electrical Marine systems.
  • Have a minimum of a HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Have great interpersonal skills, being able to interact with customers and building relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects at once and prioritising efficiently.
  • Ability to travel nationally or internationally at short notice.
  • Be an excellent team player.
  • Be good at problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.
