Azure Data Engineer

We are currently looking for an Azure Data Platforms Engineer on a contract basis (OSIR35) for a global retail organisation. The project will to deliver a foundational data platform to enhance data-driven decision-making and performance analytics. They will play an important role in designing, implementing, and managing the data infrastructure and data integration processes using Azure services.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with solution/data architect to design and implement scalable, secure data infrastructure using Azure services.
  • Design and implement data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure services.
  • Develop and maintain data models and data warehouses on Azure SQL Data Warehouse or Synapse Analytics.
  • Utilise MS Fabric to enhance data integration, management, and analytics processes.
  • Optimise and troubleshoot performance issues in data solutions and Power BI reports.
  • Develop Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with Global teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Azure Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Understanding of Azure data warehousing concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with Azure SQL Data Warehouse or Synapse Analytics.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure data services.
  • Expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and report/dashboard development.
  • Ideally experience with MS Fabric.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
