We are now seeking an experienced Sourcing Engineer to join our Procurement Team based at our manufacturing facility just outside Plymouth.


The successful applicant will bring engineering knowledge to the purchasing team to support NPIs, drive cost reductions activities, improve quality and reduce risks in the supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:

Be responsible for sourcing new direct components required for New Products Introductions (NPI) from existing or new suppliers.

This requires understanding the specifications, drawings and technical data provided by the engineering team.

Be the subject matter expert for direct components and use this knowledge to support sourcing strategies and supplier relationships.

Use market and industry intelligence to identify, vet and qualify new suppliers

Identify the risks and threats in the Supply Chain. Rank these risks and address them by providing solutions for mitigation of the highest risks (developing new sources or strengthening the existing sources)

Identify cost savings opportunities and inventory reduction opportunities

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers

Ensure compliance to sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and ethics.


We are ideally looking for candidates with;


CIPS level 4 or above

A Batchelors degree, or higher, in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
