Job title: IT Test Lead

Duration: min 6 months plus possible extension

Location: Sheffield (twice per week on-site, 3 days remote)

Type of Contract: Contract-based inside IR35



Purpose of the job

The person appointed must have strong Software Testing knowledge and should be able to conduct all testing activities ensuring highest quality is maintained. A Test professional with skills in Infrastructure Testing with focus on Conditional Access, Firewall Testing and Certificate Authority. They should have strong hands-on experience on designing, executing testing scenarios covering network security, identity management, configuration management manual testing and through tools.

Being part of the IT Team, they will collaborate with internal IT Support teams and will be responsible to support all Test activities, BAU test activities under the guidance of Test Lead/Test Manager for Project success.


Main duties


  • Testing:Reviewing and analysing requirement documents ensuring business requirements are fully understood.
  • Manual test script creation, test execution and defect reporting.
  • Responsible for raising defects with defect priority and managing through to successful resolution.
  • Provide timely updates on issues and test progress to management.
  • Identifying and carrying out regression testing as required.
  • Test Phases- Functional/Non-Functional Testing, Regression, UAT
  • Conduct comprehensive firewall testing – policy validation, rule base analysis to ensure network traffic is properly managed.
  • Evaluate functionality and security of conditional access policies to ensure proper control of user accesses
  • Ensuring proper management of digital certificates, ensuring secure reliable certificate issuance and validation
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings.
  • Delivery & Quality Management: Supporting with any functional queries that may arise from business users.
  • Assuring high quality and thorough approach to work with excellent attention to detail within timescales.


Knowledge and experience

  • Broad knowledge of software development lifecycle(waterfall/agile), test strategies and test techniques
  • Knowledge of Cisco Firepower and ability to test firewall, conditional access, certificate authority
  • Knowledge on Automation Testing approach - Katalon (desirable)
  • Proven experience of working with daily releases.
  • Experienced at Excel and Jira for test management and defect management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of Financial Services is desirable.



Qualifications:

ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level
