We are looking for an Engineer who wants to be part of a fast paced, highly focused engineering team to deliver key milestones. You will be part of a new revolution leading the charge in providing solutions using renewable clean energy. The role involves the delivery of design for Utility scale battery & PV hybrid systems.


Key Responsibilities

Developing, reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical infrastructure designs for Electric Vehicle Charging Forecourts including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Reviewing and approving high voltage design from ICPs and low voltage DC & AC designs from Gridserve Design Engineers ensuring projects are completed to specifications, company and H&S Standards.

Supporting the design process: Electrical specification, electrical schematics, cable schedules, AutoCAD drawings, cable calculation reports, protective device settings.

Supporting the development, legal & project delivery teams, as required.

Establishing relationships with Team members, Suppliers, other Professionals, and expanding networks.

Maintaining and improving existing engineering processes.

Participating in conferences, events, and networking and learning opportunities.

Drawing up budgets, schedules, company regulations, and various other documents.

Analysing existing processes and scheduling meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.

Assist with identifying technical solutions to meet the needs of advancing Electric Vehicle Charging Technology, Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Storage Systems

Assisting with recruitment, training, and onboarding.

Ensuring a safe, positive work environment.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System, compliant with ISO standards.


Skills/Experience Required

Passionate about sustainability, specifically about Electric Vehicles and related technologies.

Degree or an equivalent level of qualification in Engineering or related discipline. Electrical Engineering degree is highly desirable.

Must have experience of working in a similar technical role on HV (11 & 33kV), LV & DC electrical Systems.

Working knowledge and understanding of H&S regulations, design regulations, electrical standards and CDM regulations.

Working knowledge of Electric Vehicle Charging types including their specifications, cost, efficiency, code compliance, performance, and reliability

Proven track record in developing and implementing ambitious business improvement, innovation, and/or technology implementation strategies and programmes either from a consultancy or in-house perspective.

Experience in developing and implementing EV charging services and/or fleet electrification programmes with ideally a consultancy background is preferred, but not a must.

Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills and strong focus on accuracy of information

Advanced IT skills and be fully conversant with the Microsoft Office suite

Flexible mindset, team player and solutions driven

A self-motivated, proactive individual with good communication skills

Good organizational skills with ability to manage time effectively between multiple technically demanding projects.

Excellent communication skills, the ability to present complex technical results in a clear and concise manner

Hands-on approach, flexible and positive attitude


Desirable Skills

HV Grid studies, HV Distribution, HV Protection Coordination and HV earthing.

Working knowledge of battery energy storage solutions (BESS), Energy Storage solutions (ESS) and Solar PV solutions.

BS7671 18th edition qualification.
