Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with traders on an intraday basis to identify and assess key market risks.
  • Perform risk valuations and statistical analysis to calculate relevant risk measures.
  • Ensuring all risks are accurately captured, monitored, and reported.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of systems, models, and reporting processes, periodically reviewing both quantitative and qualitative aspects.
  • Work with traders and risk professionals to streamline and simplify processes across global teams.
  • Enhance control frameworks to ensure comprehensive risk management practices are maintained.
  • Stay informed about market developments, regulatory changes, and new risk factors that may impact the business.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with advanced skills in Excel, SQL, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • A solid academic background, ideally with a 2:1 or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or any related engineering degree.
  • Knowledge of European energy markets is an advantage, with an awareness of current market trends and regulatory changes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and numerical skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure, with a decisive and disciplined approach.
  • A team player, capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A motivated individual who thrives on challenges and is eager to learn and grow within the company.
  • Fluency in a European language is a plus but not essential.
  • CFA 3 OR CQF will be a significant bonus for the applicant.
