Are you passionate about urban development and quality of life? Join our global team as a Volunteer Happy City Index Researcher and contribute to a project that assesses and improves city living standards worldwide.


About Us:

The Happy City Index is a community-driven initiative aimed at promoting the role and significance of residents in urban policies. For the past five years, we have been evaluating cities based on 76 indicators, which span 25 different areas of city activity and 5 main thematic areas: CITIZENS, GOVERNANCE, ENVIRONMENT, ECONOMY, and MOBILITY. The results are published on International Day of Happiness, 20 March.

The Happy City Index is managed by Happy City Hub Ltd, a British entity dedicated to working on behalf of cities. Additionally, it oversees the Institute for Quality of Life – a project focused on studying the quality of life in cities and publishing the results of the Happy City Index. Role Overview:

As a Happy City Index Researcher, you will play a crucial role in gathering and inputting data for our sixth edition of the index. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Data Collection: Research and compile data on selected cities according to our established indicators.
  • Data Entry: Input collected data into our information panel with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration: Work with a team of over 250 volunteers from around the world, coordinating efforts remotely to ensure the highest quality of data.

  • Certificate: An official certificate acknowledging your contribution to the Happy City Index.
  • Reference: A letter of reference confirming your work and dedication.
  • Event Invitation: An invitation to the online announcement of the 2025 index results in March 2025.


Commitment:

This volunteer role requires you to gather data between November 2024 and January 2025. While our headquarters are in London, all activities are conducted remotely, allowing you to participate from anywhere.
