Infrastructure Cyber Consultant

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to bridging the gap between the infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, ensuring robust and secure IT operations for their diverse client base.
Role Overview: The Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the security and infrastructure frameworks within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing cybersecurity toolsets, while also maintaining and improving infrastructure components such as Microsoft 365, networking, and virtualization environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to design and implement secure and scalable IT solutions.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cybersecurity tools, including but not limited to SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management systems.
- Oversee the administration and optimization of Microsoft 365 services, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
- Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing remediation plans.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients on cybersecurity best practices and infrastructure improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to proactively protect the organization and its clients.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and security protocols.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role within an MSP or comparable environment.
- Strong background in infrastructure management, including Microsoft 365, networking, and virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity toolsets such as SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols, design, and security.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate) are highly desirable.
