Vero has been exclusively engaged to recruit an ambitious accountant into the highly visible and critical role of Senior Accountant.


Working with a fantastic team of finance professionals, in a collaborative and flexible environment, the successful individual will work closely with the UK Operations Finance Manager, the UK Finance Director, as well as the General Managers for a range of their Business Streams.

The role:


Reporting to the UK Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will provide support to the UK finance team and be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and reports.


Working within the UK team to ensure reporting, forecasting and invoicing objectives are met, this role will provide day to day financial support to two of our client’s leading Business Streams.

The UK finance team is a highly collaborative, professional, and high-performing group, who act as business partners.


Duties:

  • Providing day to day financial support and guidance to the business areas
  • Implementation and adherence to financial controls and processes
  • Preparation and reporting of management accounts along with customer profitability analysis
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts for the business area, financial analysis compared to budget/forecast and customer profitability analysis
  • To introduce/amend processes to improve system benefits, reporting, working capital management and deliver financial KPI targets
  • Question and challenge current processes and assumptions within the business area
  • Provide financial information to operational managers, increasing their financial understanding
  • Work with operational teams to deliver business and financial improvements
  • Prepare accurate and relevant Balance Sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner
  • Understanding of customer contracts and operational/financial drivers
  • Assist with commercial tenders/pricing activities where required
  • Delivery of audit schedules and liaison with auditors
  • Working closely with credit control, purchase ledger and international legal/tax partners


Who are we looking for:


  • Professionally qualified accountant preferred, however those studying or qualified by experience who hold the requisite skills and experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Focus on detail, accuracy and consistency
  • Professional and commercial outlook
  • Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take projects to completion
  • Awareness and appreciation of cashflow and the implications of actions on cash
  • Awareness of potential challenges and differences from operating in a variety of geographical locations and tax/legal jurisdictions
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to see team members and team performance improve and develop
