Salt are working with one of the UK's best-known consumer brands as they make innovative steps to take a spot on their users home screens.


As a Principal Designer in the team, you'll be tasked with re-imagining their app experience for the millions of customers they have across the UK, acting as a master craftsperson, creating innovative UI at scale and speed. The design work you'll be a part of will be tasked at moving key metrics around app usage and engagement, OKR's that sit at the heart of their mid term growth strategy, and instrumental in having tangible commercial impact.


With a number of positions at this level currently being recruited for, you might be an experienced Ecomm designer, in-life design expert or someone passionate about scaling design systems. These roles offer a unique opportunity to influence the UX and UI of a product and brand known by many.

Role Description:

  • Function as an individual contributor, not directly managing teams but leading by example in creating outstanding app experiences.
  • Oversees the delivery of world-class, digital-first experiences that achieve commercial goals, such as increased digital channel share.
  • Showcase a visionary approach, constantly pushing design boundaries and setting the course for future app experiences.
  • Emphasize a commitment to achieving world-class quality in the live user experience rather than focusing solely on design team management.
  • Mentors and coaches experienced professionals to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in user-centered design and research across UI & UX.
  • Proven expertise in app ecommerce product design, In-life design or Design systems expertise, with a portfolio demonstrating successful contributions to well-known brands.
  • A track record of exceptional speed and quality in UI design for apps.
  • Prior experience in leadership roles, with a focus on individual contributor responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to drive success through measurable metrics.


Key Success Metrics:

  • Contribute to producing the best-performing app journeys in the UK within your first year.
  • Measure success through key metrics including Conversion Rates of Sales Journeys and Digital Customer Satisfaction metrics, DAU, MAU and DCSAT.


This role is hybrid based, with 3 days required in the office. As part of the interview process, you'll speak with their Director of Design, key stakeholders across Product and Tech and meet a few team members that you'll be working alongside.
