Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager at the G3 Bedford auction facility. The General Manager will oversee daily operations, manage staff, develop business strategies, maintain vendor and client relationships, and ensure the overall success of the auctions.


The key responsibility for the role will be to raise standards in customer service at the branch and bring together all departments from across the branch to ensure we offer a best-in-class physical and digital remarketing solution from the newly launched facility.   The candidate will be able to demonstrate a relevant track record of a similar role within the remarketing sector.         


Bringing a drive, leadership, and enthusiasm, combined with a strong, clear communication style, we seek a motivational and collaborative approach to delivering against targets and objectives. The candidate will be accountable for vendor performance within the branch, ensuring buyers are engaged and satisfied to maintain and grow the dealer base required to create a thriving vehicle marketplace.


To create a successful environment the candidate will require the backing of the whole branch team, giving the candidate the responsibility for driving performance across all colleagues within the Bedford centre with direct reports in the main office teams of administrators and front of house, alongside support from other senior managers in the yard and operations.


An ability to auctioneer would be an advantage, however, not essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the performance requirements of the branch and drive the results from within in a timely and efficient manner
  • Working with the central sales and marketing teams to leverage relationships with both vendors and buyers to help contribute to the overall profitability targets
  • Encourage a one-team mentality across the business and establish clear communication channels for the cross-department management within the branch and the wider business
  • Manage available resources to ensure optimal budget utilisation within the team every month and plan with the board for annual budgeting
  • Become the figurehead for the branch to lead from the front and promote excellent customer service for both buyer and vendor within the wider team, including all vendor branch visits and vendor representation on the rostrum
  • Identify training requirements and skills matrix for direct reports – encourage staff retention by looking for opportunities for personal development and multi-skilling the team


Position & Remuneration

Full-time permanent position (Core hours are Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm) to be based at G3 Bedford (MK44 1ZY)


The successful candidate will receive;
