As the Head of Projects, your primary responsibility will be to lead the pipeline and financial development of projects across a diverse portfolio of National and Regional FM customers.


You will be at the helm of driving project initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Your reporting line includes Sector and Divisional Project Directors, Regional Directors, and FM Account Directors as needed. This dotted/dashed reporting structure ensures seamless communication and collaboration.


P&L responsibility will lie with you for the South Project team's portfolio. This entails managing costs, revenue, and margins effectively. You'll also oversee project costing on behalf of FM accounts, ensuring financial viability and optimal resource allocation.

The role focus extends to driving growth in Regional, Strategic, and National Projects Pipelines. This involves identifying opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and expanding our project footprint.


Your role extends to supporting Strategic and Regional FM accounts. This includes engagement with Strategic Accounts, Communities, and CG&D business units. As a champion of Mitie Projects processes, you'll ensure adherence to best practices. This encompasses areas such as CDM, Quality, and commercial aspects. Continual improvement of project delivery within your team is a key focus.


Nurturing a high-quality supply chain of competent, financially secure Project Contractors will be your priority. Collaborating closely with the Project Director, Regional Director, Account Directors, and Mitie Procurement will ensure seamless operations. Beyond maintenance, you will seek opportunities for expansion. Elevating service delivery standards by enhancing our contractor network will be your strategic focus.


About Your Expertise:


Project Management Experience: Proven track record in project management, ideally within the facilities management (FM) or construction industry. Experience leading end-to-end project lifecycles, from initiation to completion.


Financial Acumen: Strong financial understanding, including P&L management and project costing.

Ability to analyse financial data and make informed decisions.


Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders. Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.


Team Leadership: Experience managing project teams, including direct line management of Project Managers. Ability to distribute workloads and allocate resources efficiently.


Strategic Thinking: Strategic mindset with a focus on revenue and margin growth. Familiarity with strategic account management and business development.


Process Improvement and Quality Assurance: Championing process improvements, such as CDM (Construction Design and Management) and quality assurance. Experience driving continuous improvement in project delivery.


Technology Adoption: Familiarity with project management tools and software.


Change Management and Alignment: Ability to positively drive organisational initiatives, aligning with company goals. Change management skills.
