Senior SRE

EF is investing big in new software innovation products for the next generation of Education experiences. We want to reinvent Learning and drive new and engaging ways for Students and Teachers to get the best out of our platform. We're looking for like-minded individuals who love to grow and solve new and exciting problems.

ROLE:

We are looking for an experienced hand-on Senior SRE to join our existing Infrastructure team – helping to maintain and develop the platform that powers all our online products. You will work closely with the other SREs and the Engineers across 6 product teams. You will have the opportunity to own large scale features, as well as the chance to help define the future direction of the platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for overall health of our EU and CN Kubernetes Clusters
• Oversee the security and access to the clusters and other key systems
• Help software engineering teams deal with scalability issues
• Help drive costs down through efficiency improvements, stack simplifications, etc...
• Interact with vendors (Cloudflare, Datadog, Tailscale, etc...)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• BSc, BEng in Computer Science, other technical subjects, or equivalent qualification or technical experience is a plus
• Proven experience of building, maintaining scalable, high available, observable and secure Infrastructure
• Proven experience of maintaining Kubernetes cluster (EKS) in high traffic environment
• Very good knowledge of the various network protocols (TCP/UDP, DNS ....)
• Very good understanding of the common security standard and practice
• Good understanding of modern software development practices (code review, TDD, Agile)
• Genuine passion for working in a team and building great products that delight end users. Drive for excellence and improvement
• Experience working with Terraform, Packer, python, golang and Datadog
