We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Coordinator/Controller/Lead to manage the financial records of our diverse portfolio of clients. In this role, you will oversee bookkeeping activities across multiple client accounts while managing and training on-site and outsourced bookkeepers.
Your key responsibilities will include maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, handling and reviewing VAT returns, management reporting, CIS reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations for each client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping activities for multiple clients, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Manage and train bookkeepers, ensuring adherence to company standards and each client’s specific requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies for both outsourced and in-house bookkeeping teams to maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency across client accounts.
- Review VAT returns, management reports, accounts, invoices, CIS, and payroll, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports for clients, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Liaise closely with clients to resolve queries raised by bookkeepers and provide clear answers to any client questions.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency in bookkeeping operations.
- Monitor and report on the performance of outsourced bookkeepers, offering feedback and support to ensure high standards for all clients.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field, with a strong background in managing multiple client accounts.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, financial processes, and accounting standards.
- Experience in managing or training outsourced or remote teams is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, VT) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, particularly in a client-focused environment.
