Uxbridge, United Kingdom Cover-More Group Full time

Cover-More Group helps people travel safely across the globe every day. We are there at every step of a traveller’s journey, to keep them safe and help them out if something goes wrong. We are committed to providing reliable, fast, flexible and bespoke services for our customers as well as the many well-known brands we partner with, such as travel agencies, airlines, banks and major sporting clubs

In the post-pandemic world, travel insurance is more important than ever. We are committed to delivering an exceptional service for our customers and we want you to be part of that journey.

So, what’s the job?

  • You'll oversee compliance by leading the local compliance monitoring and assurance efforts, regularly updating policies, advising business units on regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance obligations are consistently met, and supporting GDPR adherence.
  • You'll support risk management by identifying, assessing, and mitigating strategic, operational, and project risks, analysing root causes of incidents, developing action plans, and contributing to the annual risk assessment process.
  • You'll manage regulatory changes by tracking regulatory updates, evaluating their business impact, and implementing timely compliance adaptations to stay ahead of evolving requirements.
  • You'll champion customer-focused compliance by acting as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, safeguarding confidentiality, enhancing regulatory practices, and prioritising positive customer outcomes in line with customer protection principles.
  • You'll communicate with clarity and professionalism by ensuring all interactions—written, verbal, and face-to-face—are effective, transparent, and easily understood by all parties involved.
  • You'll drive technical accuracy and process improvement by maintaining attention to detail, continually enhancing processes, and leveraging systems and tools for effective compliance management.
  • You'll uphold customer protection principles by putting customer welfare at the forefront, acting with integrity, preventing foreseeable harm, and maintaining a customer-centric approach in every compliance-related decision.

And what are we looking for?

  • You'll bring extensive experience with at least 5+ years in a compliance role within financial services, ideally in general insurance, along with a deep understanding of FCA regulations governing financial intermediaries.
  • You'll demonstrate strong technical expertise in core compliance and regulatory practices, with a proven ability to apply compliance risk management effectively and deliver results to a professional standard.
  • You'll excel at project management with the skills to prioritise effectively, communicate with impact, and drive projects to completion, ensuring a high standard of quality and efficiency.
  • You'll be a natural collaborator and influencer, experienced in managing diverse stakeholders across first and second lines of defence, and skilled in fostering productive partnerships at the management level.
  • You'll communicate with clarity and professionalism in both oral and written forms, taking a proactive, adaptable approach to challenges, and consistently striving for solutions that enhance the customer experience and contribute positively to organisational success.
