Field Service Engineer Role


As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the go-to technical specialist for our customers across the UK. Your role will involve installing, maintaining, and repairing their advanced electro-mechanical Scientific Instruments, ensuring they operate at peak performance. You'll be the face of their company, building strong relationships with customers, providing expert support, and helping them get the most out of their platform.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform on-site installations and commissioning of [specific products/systems].
  • Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Provide hands-on training to customers, ensuring they are confident in using our equipment effectively.
  • Offer on-site and remote technical support, addressing customer inquiries and resolving technical challenges promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including installation reports, maintenance logs, and customer communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the internal engineering and product teams to provide feedback for product enhancements and improvements.


Field Service Engineer Requirements:


  • A relevant qualification in either Mechanical or Electronics Engineering
  • Proven experience in a field service role, with hands-on expertise in working on complex scientific instrumentation/capital equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to solving technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
  • A valid UK driving license is essential.
