Finance Homepage Editor (4–6 Month Contract)

About the Role:

Are you passionate about financial markets and business news? We are seeking a Finance Homepage Editor for an initial 4–6 month contract. In this role, you’ll ensure our finance content is accurate, engaging, and optimized for maximum reach while curating and managing the homepage and finance section sites to attract a wide audience. This role may involve some weekend work. The role can be done remotely but you must be based in the UK and it will be paid via PAYE.

Key Responsibilities:

- Copy edit, proofread, and format finance news and related content

- Fact-check stories for accuracy and reliability

- Write accurate, engaging headlines that capture readers’ attention

- Optimize content for search engine visibility (SEO)

- Curate and manage the finance homepage and section sites

- Monitor the news flow to ensure relevant and timely content

- Support various editorial functions, including editing, data management, distribution, push alerts, newsletters, and quality control

Required Qualifications:

- Strong copy-editing and proofreading skills

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital journalism

- Excellent knowledge of financial markets with a passion for business news

- Proven ability to create compelling headlines

- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Good news judgment and ability to make real-time editorial decisions

- Experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with editorial best practices and style guides

- A bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or a related field, or equivalent job experience

- Knowledge of SEO and data analytics is a plus
