Maidenhead, United Kingdom AVIRE Full time

About the Role

Avire's Detectors & Phones portfolio combines our emergency communications products with edge-detection equipment that prevent crush injuries in lifts. Avire is the market leader across Europe in this category, and our products keep tens of millions of people around the world safe, every single day.

We’re looking for a Product Manager who can lead our Detectors & Phones portfolio and ensure we continue to delight our customers by offering a market-leading portfolio of safe, secure and simple-to-install products.

By working to deeply understand our customers, the competition and the market drivers, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our highly profitable business, which is part of Halma Plc, a FTSE100 company committed to growing a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll apply a mixture of strategic and hands-on skills to drive the success of our Detectors & Phones portfolio. You’ll work collaboratively across functions to ensure our products meet real-world needs and deliver value to our customers. Your main areas of focus will include:

  • Strategic Market Analysis: Identifying market trends, assessing competitors, and anticipating changes to ensure our strategy aligns with both customer needs and industry shifts.
  • Customer-Focused Development: Conducting user research and co-creation sessions to build deep empathy for our customers work, uncover pain points and design products that resonate.
  • Collaborative Product Concepting: Shaping and refining product offerings that delight our customers, adding genuine value and delivering thoughtful, accessible solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Working side-by-side with engineering, sales, marketing, and business development teams to bring ideas to life, align on product goals, and ensure our products continue to lead the market.
  • Performance Improvement: Applying data insights to measure and enhance product performance, with an eye on growing revenue and increasing customer satisfaction.

Who You Are

You’re a natural collaborator and are deeply motivated by creating positive outcomes for customers. Your experience in hardware-centric product management and creating insight from customer and market data has prepared you to lead in this role. You are:

  • Customer-Centric: You center your approach on truly understanding and responding to the customer, designing solutions that delight them.
  • Strategic & Insightful: You enjoy finding meaning in market trends and translating insights into actionable steps that strengthen our position.
  • Analytical: You’re comfortable using data to identify patterns, draw conclusions, and inform decisions.
  • Adaptive & Agile: You’re flexible and open to change, adept at evolving product strategies as new challenges and opportunities arise.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, marketing, engineering, or computer science) or equivalent experience. Postgraduate qualifications in Product/Business Management would be beneficial.
  • Proven experience in product management, especially within hardware-focused environments, managing product lifecycle end-to-end.
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and experience with customer research and competitor analysis.
  • Experience/knowledge of managing a portfolio, including SKU rationalisation and simplification, product/price positioning, product replacement, etc.
  • The ability to speak another European language would be beneficial, particularly German or Czech.
