Settlements Analyst

Type: Full-time

Location: London, UK


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Operators to finalize AR and AP invoicing, meticulously reviewing contracts, INCOTERMS, inspection reports, and other pertinent cargo documentation.
  • Utilize the trading system (Allegro) to generate and reconcile invoices, ensuring timely transmission to counterparties, monitoring payments, and conducting necessary follow-ups.
  • Address discrepancies promptly, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate payment processing.
  • Prepare comprehensive statements of accounts tailored to specific business customers.
  • Support invoice administration by ensuring the accurate and punctual filing of invoices in the tracker.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports from Sun Systems for both internal and external use on a periodic basis.
  • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation, comparing end-of-month statements with trade and accounting systems.
  • Aid in the digital filing of essential trade documents for internal and external purposes.
  • Offer insights to enhance processes, particularly within the East Africa business line, and assist in the implementation of PFI generation from the trading system.
  • Gather requisite documentation for Audits and Financial Statements.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned and contribute to special projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English/Spanish is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Familiarity with trading systems; experience with Allegro is a plus.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Dynamic, collaborative team player with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and adept problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with management at all levels.
  • High regard for confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Flexibility to work occasional flexible hours as needed.
