D365 F&O Functional/Technical Support Consultant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated D365 F&O Functional/Technical Support Consultant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing in-depth functional and technical support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O), ensuring smooth operation of the system and resolving any technical or business-related issues. This position requires an individual with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and deep knowledge of D365 F&O modules and functionalities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary Support Contact: Act as the main point of contact for end users experiencing functional or technical issues with D365 F&O, ensuring quick and effective resolution of incidents.


  • Incident & Service Request Management:
  • Monitor, log, and manage incoming support tickets related to D365 F&O, ensuring they are resolved within defined SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to various D365 F&O modules, including finance, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing.


  • Root Cause Analysis:
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, implementing long-term solutions to prevent reoccurrence.


  • System Configuration & Maintenance:
  • Support ongoing system maintenance by managing updates, system patches, and configurations.
  • Assist with minor system enhancements, configuration adjustments, and module setups based on business requirements.


  • User Training & Documentation:
  • Provide training to end users on how to effectively use D365 F&O, focusing on optimizing workflows and resolving common issues.
  • Develop and update support documentation, including user guides, FAQs, and issue resolution procedures.


  • Collaboration with IT Teams: Work with internal IT teams, developers, and third-party vendors to escalate issues that require advanced technical or development support, ensuring quick resolution and minimal system downtime.


  • Data Integrity & Security: Ensure data integrity across the D365 F&O system by regularly reviewing system configurations and user access controls, and addressing any discrepancies or data errors.


  • Testing & Validation: Participate in the testing and validation of system upgrades, patches, or new features before deployment to the production environment.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a D365 F&O support role, with a focus on functional and technical issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of finance, supply chain, or manufacturing processes within D365 F&O.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting functional and technical issues in a support capacity.


  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in the configuration and support of key D365 F&O modules (finance, procurement, supply chain, etc.).
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and methodologies, as well as the ability to resolve issues through system configurations.
  • Knowledge of basic development concepts (X++, Power Platform, SQL) is advantageous, though coding is not the primary responsibility.


  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical issues to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple tickets and prioritize tasks effectively.


  • Education:
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB-300, MB-500, MB-700)
