Job Description

ABV Solicitors, a Criminal Defence, Regulatory and Fraud specialist firm, are looking for enthusiastic Paralegals to support the firm’s continued growth. 

ABV Solicitors have been recognised by The Times in their guide to the Best Law Firms 2023 and are ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

All candidates must have a demonstrable interest in criminal law. It is desirable that candidates have completed the LPC, BPTC or SQE.

Candidates will have a strong academic background, preferably previous experience of working within a law firm and have good interpersonal skills. The role will include:

-       Supporting solicitors with preparation of casework;

-       Dealing with complex and novel legal issues;

-       Liaising with counsel, courts, witnesses, and other third parties;

-       Taking client instructions and progressing cases from start to finish.

ABV Solicitors are one of the largest criminal law providers in the country and have litigated various complex and high-profile cases, so the successful candidates will have an excellent opportunity to learn how to manage a diverse and significant caseload.

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate with examples, the following:

-       A clear interest in pursuing a career in criminal law;

-       Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

-       An ability to conduct legal research;

-       Using their own initiative;

-       Working within a team environment;

-       Ability to work accurately under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines;

-       Good interpersonal skills and smart appearance; and

-       Flexible approach to assist/cover other positions and duties when required.
